Usually, but it’s the first thing we check. High-hedged lanes with no passing place, steep cobbles in St Ives, a granite cottage with a low doorway — access is often the real job here, not distance. We look at both ends before the day and bring the right size of van and crew for it.

It’s an honest question and worth asking before you commit. The things people underestimate are the distances between towns, how long the A30 takes in summer, and how seasonal work and housing can be. On the moving side specifically: check parking and access at the new place, and whether a big lorry can actually reach it — a surprising number of Cornish cottages and lanes can’t take one, and that’s better known before the day than on it.

Access, access, access. Villages like Mousehole, Polperro and the top of St Ives have lanes that a full-size removals lorry simply can’t enter, so we may shuttle your things in with a smaller van. Parking permits or a suspended bay can help at the tight end. We work all of this out at the survey so there are no surprises when the ramp comes down.

We do — shops, offices and units around Truro, Pool, Threemilestone and the Falmouth waterfront, among others. Business moves are planned around your trading hours, often out-of-hours or over a weekend, with IT and equipment handled and set back up so you lose as little working time as possible.

Then you get a written, no-obligation quote. We don’t give a real figure off a guess, because a guess helps no one.

Yes. We run household moves from Cornwall to France, Italy, Spain and Portugal, framed as the route it actually is — off the A30 and A38 to the motorway network, across to the Channel or a ferry from Plymouth, then on to the destination. We handle the customs paperwork that goes with a move out of the UK.

As early as you reasonably can, especially over the summer and around the end of the month when everyone completes at once. Get in touch as soon as you have a likely date — even a rough one — and we can pencil it in and firm it up later. Earlier means more choice of dates, not a better price.

Yes, that’s part of a full move. Beds, wardrobes, flat-pack that’s seen better days — we take down what needs taking down to get it out safely, and put it back together at the new place. Tell us about anything particularly heavy, antique or awkward so we bring the right kit.

It’s Cornwall — we plan for weather. Floors and carpets get covered at both ends, furniture is blanket-wrapped and protected, and we work in a way that keeps your things dry between the door and the lorry. A wet day slows things a little; it doesn’t stop a well-planned move.

Yes. We carry goods-in-transit and public liability cover, and we’ll talk you through what’s covered before you book. If you own anything of unusual value, mention it at the survey so we can make sure it’s properly accounted for.

That’s our man-and-van service — a driver and a right-sized van for a single room, a few large pieces, a student move in Falmouth or a quick collection. Same careful handling as a full move, scaled to the job.
