Cornwall is a long way from almost everywhere. That’s part of the appeal — and it’s exactly why a move here, or away from here, isn’t the same job as a cross-town hop. The county hangs off one main road, the A30, with the A38 breaking away at Bodmin for Plymouth and the M5.

Can you get a van up a narrow Cornish lane?
Usually, but it’s the first thing we check. High-hedged lanes with no passing place, steep cobbles in St Ives, a granite cottage with a low doorway — access is often the real job here, not distance. We look at both ends before the day and bring the right size of van and crew for it.
