The route
The overland run is the A30 to the M5, across to the Channel, and then the length of France and the width of Spain before you reach Portugal — the Atlantic corridor, and a proper multi-day haul that we plan tightly.
The ferry from Plymouth to Santander can take a big bite out of that. Landing in northern Spain and driving down through the country is often the steadier way to reach Porto, Lisbon and even the Algarve — and Plymouth is right next door to Cornwall.
